Ōkubi (大首 Ōkubi, lit. giant severed head) is a yōkai that appears in the 1971, 1985 and the 1996 anime version of "GeGeGe no Kitarō." He is accompanied by Hone-Onna in a plan to sacrifice canned souls into Mt. Fuji's volcanic core for an eruption.

The Great Yōkai War: Guardians: Side Story: Heian Hyakkitan[]
Sanmoto Gorōzaemon appeared in the final battle and commanded giant Yōkai including Ōkubi, Tearai-Oni, Gasha-Dokuro, and Miage-Nyūdō to bring down and capture gigantic Nue. These Yōkai slammed Nue on Mount Ōe, however Nue was powerful enough to drive away them at once.[1]

The Ōkubi of legend is also known as "Odori-kubi". Ōkubi is also a portent of impending disasters like volcanic eruptions, typhoons and such.
