An Appointment with Death (あう時はいつも死人, Au Toki wa Itsumo Shinin) is a GeGeGe no Kitarō story first published in 1960 as a chapter of the original rental manga. It was the last story Shigeru Mizuki wrote for Togetsu-Shobō before their falling out and his subsequent switch to Sanyō. He would later reconcile with them and produce two final stories, The Strangest Showdown and Johnny in the Mist. An Appointment with Death was later adapted for the Hakaba Kitarō anime.
