Ashi-Magari (あしまがり Ashi-Magari, lit. Leg Clinger) is a Tanuki and an adversary of Kitarō. He first appears in the Shonen Magazine story Yōkai Ashi-Magari.
Appearance[]
In the 2018 anime, Ashi-Magari is a Tanuki with brown fur, small triangular ears, bushy tail and eyes with small red pupils. His snout has three pairs of white whiskers and a small nose. He wears an purple robe with a thin white sash tied with a bow and a white gourd tied to it. Additionally he has a small white drum that has a red circle with a four-petaled red flower and a red frame, it is tied with a rope and hangs around his neck.

He appears in episode #45 of the third anime adaption, Save the Yōkai flower!!. In this episode, he was hired by Nurarihyon as a bodyguard for the Yōkai Hotel they took over. When Kitarō appeared, he used his gong to trap Kitarō in a tornado cloud and planned to send him to Jigoku in it. Kitarō managed to use his geta to hit the gong that Ashi-Magari set aside, and escaped the cloud. The geta continued to hit the gong, capturing Ashi-Magari instead and sent him away.
2018 Anime[]
He appears in episode #63 of the sixth anime adaption, The Star Festival of Love The Yōkai Flower.

Ashi-Magari is an unseen yōkai that wraps onto people's feet to make them fall. When one walks along the road at night, they may suddenly feel something soft like cotton sticking to their feet that hinders them from waking any further. If one touches it, they find that it feels like a tail. Ashi-Magari's true identity is said to be the work of a mischievous tanuki.
The word “Magari” is a dialect word used in the Kagawa Prefecture, meaning "to cling onto".

- One of Ashi-Magari's designs and one of Gyōbu-Danuki's designs in the series had been confused especially in older illustrations and manga.
