Bakenoko (化けの子 Bakenoko, lit. monster/transformed bamboo sprout) is a yōkai.[1] They are one of the yōkai created by viewers.[2]

Bakenoko is a yōkai with tan skin, long wavy gray hair, with a lock that falls between their eyes, two goat horns on top of their head, red pupilless eyes and a pouch filled with objects resembling eggs. Their hands have four black claws and are constantly holding an egg in either hand, their feet however, have no claws.[1]

Bakenoko appeared alongside Kami-Kokeshi in episode #25 of the fifth anime adaptation, The Great Yōkai Sports Festival.[1]
