Dai-Kaima (大海魔 Dai-Kaima, lit. Great Sea Demon) is an akuma and a minion of Satan.
Appearance[]
Dai-Kaima is an enormous creature, where his body is made entirely of blue-green seaweed. His face resembles a mask, having sharp, dark green protrusions on the side, a flat white nose, curvy lips bearing sharp teeth and brown coloration around his eyes, which are oval-shaped and lack any pupils.
Personality[]
In Akuma-kun, it protects ocean hence attacked and drowned humans who polluted his habitat.
History[]
Shinigami Tai-Senki[]
It fed on soul of the Island of Death and also attacked Japanese fisherman on a boat.
It was later lured by gasoline it favored and swallowed Kitarō, but Kitarō ignited within Dai-Kaima's body with gas and exploded it.

Gas Breath: Dai-Kaima breathed deadly toxic gas from its mouth. This attack also dissoloved anyone nearby.

- Dai-Kaima is another name for Paidon from Akuma-kun, who resembles the demon.
- The design of the island on which Dai-Kaima resided could have been inspired by Die Toteninsel ("The island of Death") by Arnold Böcklin in 1880. The design was reused for the Island of Death in After GeGeGe no Kitarō.[1]
