Gasei (画精 Gasei, lit. Drawing Spirit) is a yōkai that briefly appeared in The Great Yōkai War.
Appearance[]
Gasei resembles a man with a head so large, it takes over his entire body! The head has fair skin, big eyes with big pupils, a big nose, and a toothy mouth. He has the kanji for dawn "暁, Akatsuki" written on his forehead, and wears a thin black & white cloth around his forehead, a stripped kimono, gray hakama, and straw sandals.
Personality[]
Gasei is a big partygoer, and doesn't realize his actions hurt others. While this can be seen as a negative, it does play a role in defeating Yasunori Katō.
History[]
The Great Yōkai War[]
Gasei, alongside thousands of other yōkai, appear in the Festival of Darkness near Yasunori Katō's base in Tokyo, which ends up inadvertently trashing some of his Kikai. He first appears behind Aobōzu to walk freely.
Legend[]
Gasei was once an artist who loved drawing, and even after his death, he wished to continue drawing, so he returned to the mortal world and became a spirit that possesses people who love to draw, helping them improve on their skills.
