Jami (邪魅 Jami, lit. Wicked Mountain Spirit) is a yokai. He first appears in the Shonen Magazine story Yōkai Sekigahara.

Jami appears in episode #27 of the fifth anime adaptation, The Law of Jigoku! Run, Nezumi Otoko.

Western Yōkai Arc[]
Jami is among the crowd gathered around the GeGeGe House, trying to drive Agnès out of the forest. He listens to Medama-Oyaji's warning that if they drive her out then the tragedy Malay yōkai will only repeat elsewhere. Soon followed by Kitarō as he explains how grave the consequences are if Japan becomes a part of Backbeard's empire, causing the crowd to look at one another. Until their attention is drawn to Kitarō as he stands on his resolve to fight.[1]
Final Chapter: Nurarihyon Arc[]
On the streets, Jami reads Nurarihyon's flier, stating that it is time that all Yōkai should stand against humans. He later punches a sign that promotes to wipe out Yōkai.[2]

Jami is a type of Chimi from the mountains said to be a spirit of evil that brings harm to humans. They take on the form of a beast with only the front of their bodies visible.
The legend of the Jami originates from China, in a story from the Shenxian Zhuan, a hermit named Ōyō known for being proficient in curing all kinds of illnesses, once cured a person possessed by a demon by drawing a prison on the ground and summoning the demon, which when revealing themself, was soon sealed in the prison. The demon depicted was said to be a Jami.
