The Kidōshū (鬼道衆, Kido Squad) is a society of yōkai-hunting humans.
Etymology
The name's kanji means literally demon (鬼) path (道) group (衆) and can be roughly translated to the Way of the Demon Society.
Additionally, Kidō is an ancient term which refers to various actions associating with gods or spiritual matters including shamanism or religious performances within politics, or more commonly referring to magics and curses.
Overview
The Kidōshū are a centuries old society of yōkai-hunting humans, their primary focus being the hunting of mermaids.
The leaders of the Kidōshū eat mermaid flesh in order to gain immortality, and their minions hold their fresh with the spiritual powers delivered by their leader.
