Kitarō's Vietnam War (鬼太郎のベトナム戦記, Kitarō no Betonamu Senki) is a short manga series published in Hōseki in 1968. The story involved Kitarō traveling to Vietnam to aid the Vietcong against the American army. Though Shigeru Mizuki drew the manga, the plot was written by Mamoru Sasaki and Nobuyuki Fukuda.
About[]
Kitarō's Vietnam War was published while the Vietnam War was still going on. Mizuki would later claim in interviews that he didn't really understand the war at the time and believed the Americans to be the aggressors in the conflict.
