Kitarō, The Search for Happiness: 100 Years of Tōno Monogatari (鬼太郎 幸せ探しの旅~100年後の遠野物語~, Kitarō Shiawase Sagashi no Tabi ~Hyaku-Nengo no Tōno Monogatari) is a TV special that first aired in 2010. It replayed on March 5 & 6, 2018, and then again on August 27 & 28.

The story followed Kitarō, Medama-Oyaji and Nezumi-Otoko as they traveled to Iwate to talk about Kunio Yanagita's classic work Tōno Monogatari. It was the first production made after the death of Isamu Tanonaka, Medama-Oyaji's regular voice actor, earlier in the year. The character is voiced for the only time by Takeshi Aono, who suffered a stroke later in the year and was replaced in future productions by Bin Shimada.
