Kuro (クロ Kuro) is a black cat in the 2007 anime adaptation. It assists Neko-Musume by informing her of Yōkai incidents and other tasks.[1]

Kuro is a black cat with white whiskers, bushy gray eyebrows, and ears with pink insides. It has eyes with yellow sclerae, orange irises, and dark orange pupils. A white beaded necklace with a pink magatama hangs around its neck.[1]

Kuro sleeps by a tree in a park, waking up and hisses at the nearby restroom as it floods, sensing the presence of a Yōkai. It goes to Neko-Musume, informing her of the disappearance of a boy from the restroom. It later carries Medama-Oyaji on its head as they find Shiraishi in an alley just as the water Yōkai attempts to capture him. It watches as Kitarō uses his Internal Electricity to make it run away. It helps Neko-Musume in waking the boy by hold his back up and laughs when she scares him after he blushes at her. It licks the boy's face as he lies from shock at seeing Medama-Oyaji.[1]
