Mammoth Flower (マンモスフラワー Manmosu Furawaa) is a manga story by Shigeru Mizuki. Although not part of GeGeGe no Kitarō's manga, it was adapted for the 1971, 1985 and 1996 anime versions of the franchise.

Plot[]
During the period of high economic growth, a huge, smelly, verminous plant suddenly appears in Yumenoshima, Tokyo. Jirokichi, a temporary janitor speculates that Tokyo's impurity is the cause of the plant's emergence. However, city politicians cannot keep up with the fact that by not solving things fundamentally, money goes to many places and that they will pay the consequences.
The emergence of plants extends to Ginza, Shinjuku and Shibuya, and Tokyo increasingly resembles an ancient coal period.
