Mikoto Onozaki (小野崎 美琴 Onozaki Mikoto) is the daughter of Shōgo Onozaki and Mana Inuyama's class president.

Appearance[]

Mikoto has long black hair and she is roughly around Mana Inuyama's height.

She is first seen wearing her school uniform. Then, Mikoto is revealed in her casual clothing consisting of a long-sleeved gray shirt and a long purple skirt.

Personality[]

Mikoto is revealed to be shy when Mana Inuyama first encountered her in the episode, she then turns out to be a kind-hearted girl who cares deeply for her father as when she posted a forum for suicidal people to make a food supply for her father to stop his rampage and keep him alive.

She is obviously distraught at the loss of her father when Kitarō kills him and goes as far to say that she hates him and will never forgive him for what he did to her father.

History[]

Mikoto is first revealed near the train posting the forum for suicidal people and she is then surprised by Mana Inuyama who shouted for her.

Then, the scene changes to her home where she asks her father to come out and eat dinner, who replies with 'He was researching' and then Mikoto left him alone.

After Kitarō's first attempt to defeat Odoro-Odoro (Mikoto's father, who had turned into a vampire yōkai) Mikoto intervenes and helped Odoro-odoro escapes as he was her father and reveals that she already knew everything from the start and revealed that she posted a forum for suicidal people to become her father's food supply to stop his rampage and to keep him alive.

When Mana and Neko-Musume were attacked under the bridge by Odoro-Odoro, Mikoto desperately tries to stop the yōkai by offering him her blood. But Kitarō in the end defeats him and Mikoto looks in despair at her father dying.

When Mikoto goes to give flowers to her father's grave, she passes by Kitarō and says that she will never forgive him for what he did to her father.

Etymology[]

  • The name Mikoto means "beautiful" (美 mi) and "Japanese harp" (琴 koto), while her surname, Onozaki, means "small" (小 o), "field, wilderness" (野 no) and "cape, peninsula" (崎 saki/zaki).
