The Mononoke (物の怪 Mononoke, spirit) is a yōkai that dwells in the woods near Nezumi-Otoko's house in the story "A Walk to Hell".
Appearance[]
Mononoke is a short humanoid yōkai with fair skin, an egg-shaped head, a bald top with black side hair, and a pencil-thin mustache. His body is covered in hair, primarily his chest, arms, and legs, and his eyes are circular with tiny pupils. He wears a sleeveless black kimono tied with a yellow sash and does not wear any shoes.
