Legend[]
The Porewit is a West Slavic deity in Wendish mythology and has been depicted with five heads and no arms. He was the second god revered in Chareneza with Rugiewit and Porenut.
The Fōbi is a fictional fire spirit of Yugoslavia, it is a beast with seven heads that breathes fire from its necks. In the year 1960, it burned a police officer and his family to death when he tried to stop it.
In actuality, it has no basis in real-life mythology and was instead created for Toshiya Nakaoka's 1968 book "Witchcraft of the World" (世界の魔術・妖術 Sekai no majutsu・yōjutsu). Eventually, it was even incorporated into other Japanese books on world mythology under the mistaken perception that it was a real European folk story. One of which includes Shigeru Mizuki's own books.
