Sanpei Kawahara (河原 三平 Kawahara Sanpei) is the main character of Shigeru Mizuki's "Kappa no Sanpei".
Appearance[]
In the manga, Sanpei is a short, young boy with round eyes and small pupils, small nostrils, a protruding mouth, a oval-shaped head, and spiky hair like a kappa. He often wears a traditional schoolboy uniform, with a buttoned-long sleeved shirt and pants.
Personality[]
In the film, Sanpei is portrayed as a kind and cheerful, but often lackadaisical and mischievous young boy, particularly very close to his grandfather and Kuromaru. While in school, he often struggles to pay attention. If he is bullied, Sanpei also often makes snide remarks, which often anger whoever is bullying him. Sanpei often overestimates himself, which can lead him into trouble.
