Synopsis[]
Townspeople awaken to loud laughter outside late at night. While investigating, they see a yōkai laughing at them from the skies. The Mayor dismisses the sight as a movie advertisement. Going back inside he then later discovers a letter. Written in it is a demand that the people sacrifice a child once a month to the Yōkai Castle. The first child must be delivered tomorrow night near the shrine. The mayor brushes it off as a prank but the letter attacks him. Asking the elder of the village for advise, The old man tells them that the yōkai on the mountain must've finally awoken from their slumber 100 years ago. He also warns that if they don't comply to the yōkai's demands the town will be burned down to the ground and that they will all be eaten. Before the first child is chosen to be sacrificed, Kitarō arrives to the scene to help.
