Synopsis[]
In the jungles of Hahajima in the Ogasawara Islands, a Yōkaiju tree plans an attack since other yōkai are. At night, a vampire bat comes to visit the tree, and reveals itself to be Dracula! The reason he visited the Yōkaiju is because she isn't in good health, and says she doesn't have enough yōkai blood, which is in abundance in a blood bank at Mt. Osore. Kitarō reads a letter from the Yōkai Post in theGeGeGe House, and flies to Hahajima on Bake-Garasu, meanwhile Medama-Oyaji says he'll take care of the house with Konaki-Jijii and Sunakake-Babaa. Nezumi-Otoko appears, and Medama says he went to the Ogasawara Islands, and so he wants to go Hahajima too, in this case to pick akebia.
As Kitarō goes to Hahajima, he goes to the house, one near the edge of a cliff, that was mentioned in the letter he wrote. He senses Yōkai Activity with his hair, and is later greeted by an old man wearing a robe. As the two discuss things inside, the man suddenly looks at a mask on the wall and winks, and an old lady appears to give cactus juice to Kitarō. Kitarō thought everyone was suspicious, especially since the lady has claws, but still drinks the juice. As he does, the old man winks again. After drinking, Kitarō collapses in pain. The old people are later revealed to be disguises of the vampires Langsuyar, who introduces herself, and Vampire Yasha, who doesn't. Dracula appears and tells them about their plans, but Kitarō was still conscious and spits out the cactus juice at them while saying he'll not hand over the blood. Dracula then pushes a switch on the mask that opens a trapdoor Kitarō was standing on, and he falls into the sea. Dracula then whistles to reveal a large Yōkai-Men sponge that chases Kitarō and sucks his blood, though not before the boy sends his chanchanko. All that's left of Kitarō's body is a dried husk.
Meanwhile in the GeGeGe House, Medama-Oyaji tells Sunakake and Konaki Nezumi went to Ogasawara, as Kitarō chanchanko floats outside them and rips itself apart to display a SOS message, saying Dracula has returned to go to a blood bank in Mt. Osore. The chanchanko reforms and leads Sunakake-Babaa, Konaki-Jijii, Ittan-Momen, Nurikabe, and Medama-Oyaji to the blood bank, meanwhile Kitarō's body washes on shore, and two children recognize him and see his heart has stopped beating. Nezumi-Otoko hears them crying and sees Kitarō's body for himself, and one of the two, a girl mentions how he looks like he was attacked by a vampire, to which Nezumi thinks Dracula is responsible. Back in Mt. Osore, Kitarō's friends guard the blood bank, and Konaki asks Ittan if they've seen anyone. As they move Nurikabe to head inside, Konaki-Jijii and Sunakake-Babaa are shocked to see the pot housing yōkai blood was already empty and broken! Medama-Oyaji tells Konaki to lift the pot as they hear laughter from inside. As he does, multiple bats fly out of the hole, as one of them reveals itself as Dracula, who them commands other vampires to pop out underground, and says they're there to nurse the Yōkaiju. Vampire Yasha stretches his fangs to attack, but is warded off by Sunakake's sand, Langsuyar stretches her tongue to pierce her and Konaki, who jumps and gets blinded by a sap Asanbosam spit out, which causes the charging Penangalan to miss him and trip, but later them and Dracula and his bats chase the Japanese Yōkai as they retreat. Konaki-Jijii gets attacked by Penangalan, but turns to stone, as him and the vampires are blocked from exiting by Nurikabe. Since Langsuyar and the others couldn't pierce Konaki's skin, they're commanded by Dracula to go back to Ogasawara. Nezumi-Otoko appears and lays out Kitarō's dried body, and Medama-Oyaji tells Nurikabe to move from the exit so that he can use Penangalan's blood to revive him. Konaki-Jijii uses a syringe, most likely from the blood bank, to inject Penangalan's blood ibto Kitarō, who us sucssesfully revived, and everyone cheers. Penangalan is also revived, but is choked out and interrogated by Kitarō after they attempt to fly, and is asked where Dracula is currently. Meanwhile in Hahajima, Vampire Yasha pours blood at the roots of the Yōkaiju, as Medama-Oyaji in Mt. Osore tells Kitarō that humanity would be wiped out if it was in good health, as they would reproduce like crazy. Kitarō and the rest then set sail to the Ogasawara Islands on a raft.
After the blood was poured, Yōkaiju starts to bloom, but Vampire Yasha tells Dracula Kitarō is heading towards them. Dracula and the others appear on a cliff, and summon the Yōkai-Men to flip the Japanese Yōkai's raft overboard, and they break it, causing everyone to fall onto the stabs. Vampire Yasha suddenly pierces Nezumi's butt with his tusks, as Kitarō attacks him back, and throws him to the ocean, causing him to be cannibalized by the Yōkai-Men. Asanbosam and Langsuyar hide ontop a tree's branch and a bush to ambush Kitarō and his friends, as the former fires sap, but when Langsuyar tries to stab Konaki-Jijii, her tongue breaks as he turns to stone again. Ittan-Momen manages to dodge Asanbosam's sap, as he constricts him and throws him upside down, meanwhile Nurikabe crushes Langsuyar. Kitarō cheers, but Sunakake-Babaa tells him where the Yōkaiju is. As they head towards her, Dracula turns into a giant bat and summons other bats to attack them. Nezumi-Otoko throws an axe at them, but misses and is soon swarmed by the bats, meanwhile Kitarō hops on Ittan-Momen to fire his Hair Needles at Dracula, but misses and is carried by him, everyone else in shock. Kitarō clings to his wings and successfully blinds Dracula, but is soon swarmed by his bat minions. Medama-Oyaji then summons Tsurube-Bi to burn Dracula, and Kitarō falls, landing on Ittan-Momen, meanwhile the vamoire falls on the Yōkaiju, causing both of them to burn. As the sun sets, the children Nezumi-Otoko wave goodbye as Kitarō and his friends leave.

Trivia[]
- Since the anime aired during 1968, the year the Ogasawara Islands were given to Japan by the U.S, this event was notably described in the opening narration as being recent.
- In the scene where the vampires invade the blood bank, Asanbosam appears but wasn't called out by Dracula like the others.
- Asanbosam makes the sound of Anguirus from the Godzilla series, while Penangalan makes the chrips of Mothra. Both of these sounds were originally saxophone noises.
