Synopsis[]
As Nezumi-Otoko digs out a fish skeleton from the trash, a police officer recognizes him and confronts him for theft. After some bickering, Nezumi blows his stinky breath onto the officer, and he reveals he was brided by none other than Hone-Onna, back from the dead! When going to the shrine where Hone-Onna resides, Nezumi-Otoko is struck by a skull coming from inside. Hone-Onna appears and tells Nezumi that he intentionally wanted him to come here. Nezumi-Otoko is taken into an onsen, where Hone-Onna tells him about a yōkai who wants to become king. Nezumi is reluctant to help, however the onsen starts to shake and a booming voice gets angry: turns out the onsen Nezumi was bathing in was the yōkai himself! The yōkai, Akashita, traps Nezumi-Otoko in his jaws, and will only let him free if he complies.
Nezumi then goes to town to promote tours to the "Kingdom of Happiness". Neko-Musume, unlike everyone else in the crowd, is suspicous, and tells Kitarō about Nezumi's scheme offscreen. Just as Nezumi-Otoko leads the people to the kingdom, Kitarō confronts him and drags him away from the public, accussing the hanyō of feeding the people to Akashita. Just to investigate, Kitarō is taken to the onsen leading to the kingdom, but while Nezumi bathes, the boy sees Akashita's eye and senses Yōkai Activity, causing the large yōkai to surface. After hitting Akashita with his Hair Needles, Kitarō retreats, and Hone-Onna reunites with a half-naked Nezumi-Otoko. As Akashita chases Kitarō, he stops for a while to suck in water to make into eight wheels he places his limbs to propel himself like a car. Just as Akashita is about to eat Kitarō, Ittan-Momen comes to the boy's aid and they fly away into Sunakake-Babaa's house. After Kitarō warns his friends of his presence, Akashita appears and tears down several trees, before grabbing Sunakake's house and eating it while everyone's still inside! Before this, Kitarō sends his chanchanko to Medama-Oyaji just in case they might be in trouble. Sunakake-Babaa's house crumbles and melts from Akashita's stomach acid, and soon everyone is digested!
Akashita spits out a stone containing Kitarō and the others, as he thinks they taste bad. Akashita also says the stone will harden when exposed to sunlight, and soon enough Kitarō and the others feel that, as they're still able to talk even when frozen. Sunakake-Babaa even says that Akashita is powerful enough to flood an entire city! Medama-Oyaji arrives, and tells the frozen heroes to unite their hearts and use their Yōkai Power to break free. When they unite, the stone floats, and follows Medama and the chanchanko. Akashita, with Hone-Onna and Nezumi-Otoko on his shoulders, set their sights on a village, but are confronted by the flying heroes. Akashita strikes the stone, and Nezumi celebrates their revolution and says he'll be a minister soon. After Nezumi-Otoko interrogates him, Medama-Oyaji tells the hanyō that he can sell Kitarō's organs for more than 10,00 yen! After cutting him up, Nezumi charges a million yen for Kitarō's hair, and 5,000,000 for his eyes.
When Nezumi-Otoko gets to Kitarō's stomach, Akashita decides he wants to eat it himself after Medama says the boy's stomach acid can grant immortality. After drinking the stomach acid, Akashita feels a pain in his own stomach, and collapses while melting into water! Nezumi makes a run for it, and Medama-Oyaji floats back up and sticks Kitarō's hair inside the stomach, and drops it, causing Akashita and Hone-Onna to be washed away and dried up. Meanwhile, everyone who stayed at Sunakake-Babaa's house turns back to normal, and they all thank Medama-Oyaji. Kitarō punishes Nezumi-Otoko by having one of his geta hit and chase him around, as everyone else laughs at the hanyō's plight once again.
