Synopsis[]
Nezumi-Otoko went to an an abandoned house and slept there for three days, however his bedroom is filled with mold. After Nezumi sneezes and gets up one night to go to the bathroon, a snake-like creature is seen slithering. When Nezumi-Otoko goes to the bathroom, he hears a licking sound, and sees a yōkai, which he calls Akaname, in the shadows! He then tells Akaname and the snake-like creature to get lost! The next day, it's revealed in the GeGeGe House that Nezumi-Otoko changed his mind and plans to use Akaname and the other yōkai in his latest scheme. At night, Nezumi sends the snake-like yōkai, Shiro-Uneri, to spray his mold breath in secret on an apartment building.
The next day, the building's president gets angry at his secretary, however the two are interrupted by Nezumi-Otoko, who says him and the disguised Akaname can help clean up the place. As a crowd watches from outside, Akaname licks the building's mold, leaving everyone to come it shocked at the spotless interior! Back in the abandoned house, Nezumi celebrates his profits, and tells Akaname and Shiro-Uneri he'll let them stay if they keep cleaning buildings like this. As Nezumi-Otoko gloats some more over glasses of three-week-old milk, he's confronted by Neko-Musume and Kitarō, causing the hanyō to spit on Akaname's face! Medama-Oyaji tells Nezumi that his scheme will damage the credibility of yōkai to humans, and so tells him to let go of his two partners. As the sun sets, Nezumi-Otoko sends Shiro-Uneri floating in a bucket in the river, and harshly tells Akaname to go away. After Akaname walks away and vanishes, Nezumi feels briefly remorseful, he reassures himself it's for the greater good, and walks off. At night, Shiro-Uneri is sucked in a waterfall of wastewater.
Kitarō manages to track down Nezumi-Otoko again, who is very gloomy. Meanwhile, a motorcycle driver notices a dog barking near the bridge Shiro-Uneri went under, and soon the yōkai re-emerges as a giant! Shiro-Uneri then sprays his mold throughout the city, which also covers the motorcycle driver. Nezumi comes to his senses when he sees Shiro-Uneri on the news and Kitarō riding Ittan-Momen. When Kitarō decides to confront Shiro-Uneri, Medama-Oyaji says the yōkai is born out of an old and dusty rag, and so must've absorbed the pollution from the stream it was floating on. Kitarō uses his chanchanko to cover his mouth and nose, so that Shiro-Uneri's mold doesn't affect him. Kitarō also uses the whip of his Yōkai Ocarina to close Shiro-Uneri's mouth, however the yōkai retaliates by shaking off the mold from the rest of his body and whips the boy and Ittan-Momen into a tree using their tail. As Neko-Musume watches from afar, she notices Nezumi-Otoko trying to reason with Shiro-Uneri, but he's blown away by their Mold Breath. However, Nezumi lands on Akaname's tongue, and it's revealed they also turned giant due to pollution! Nezumi-Otoko thanks Akaname for not giving up on him, and gets himself licked in appreciation by the yōkai. Akaname tries to calm down Shiro-Uneri, and even licks off the mold from their breath and body and withstands multiple tail whips.
Nezumi starts to feel guilty from abandoning his only partners, and cries out Akaname's name as the yōkai finally passes out. As Neko-Musume continues watching, Sunakake-Babaa appears and summons Raijin and Fūjin to blow and wash away Shiro-Uneri's mold. While this frees Kitarō and everyone else stuck in Shiro-Uneri's mold, it causes the yōkai themself to feel pain. As a result, Nezumi-Otoko tells the two gods to stop using their powers, and fortunately for him they listen. Kitarō then says goodbye to Raijin and Fūjin. As the sun sets, Nezumi-Otoko goes back home with Akaname and Shiro-Uneri, who have turned back to normal size.
