Kazuki18 trapped in mucus EP3

The boy trapped in mucus

Two boys are walking past a construction site where one wishes for it to be finished already. The other notes things will be worse with the traffic restrictions. Suddenly a figure appears behind the latter and spits mucus at him. It quickly hardens and Kazuki begins sinking into the ground, trying to get his friend's attention, but fails. After he is completely subsumed in the ground, his friend finally notices his absence.

In the GeGeGe House, Neko-Musume informs Medama-Oyaji about a rumor of children disappearing in the city going around, which she learned from Mana. She asks Kitarō what he will do, who brushes this off, not thinking it is worth their concern. His father chides him, telling him that he should not underestimate rumors among children and wants to at least hear her out. He reluctantly agrees and the three meet up with Mana, who tells them that over 10 children have gone missing. Medama-Oyaji asks why she gathered this information in the first place. She answers that since meeting them, she realized that a world where things she could not see exist and thought she could help them. Kitarō, while appreciating the sentiment, tells her to stop doing this. He tells her that Yōkai and Humans can not be friends as the two worlds should not mix. He tells her that he owes her for saving his life so he will check this out, but warns her to never get involved in something like this again. Kitarō checks out the places where the kids were rumored to have been abducted but finds no correlation in location. However, Medama-Oyaji realizes that there is; the construction sites.

Meanwhile, Mana's class is on a tour at a track stadium being built. In the middle of it, Mana sees 12 pillars and asks what they are for, but no one else can see them. Mana thinks to contact Neko-Musume and Kitarō about this but remembers the latter's warning. She thinks of investigating this further, not wanting her uncertainty to cause them trouble. Elsewhere, a student is running late for his team, when Tantanbō appears before him. Before he can capture the child, Kitarō arrives and tells him to return the children. Tantanbō refuses, for his objective requires 13. Kitarō throws his Getas but Tantanbō defends himself with concrete and disappears into it. He shoots mucus at Kitarō, and after it hardens Tantanbō tells him to stay there forever. After he leaves, Kitarō digs himself out of the dirt. Medama-Oyaji notes that Tantanbō never had the ability to control concrete and wonders why he only emerged now, as he, Futakuchi-Onna, and Kamaitachi were sealed in a stone with the Yōkai Castle. Almost immediately, he realizes that the construction sites are involved with it.

Yokai Castle18 EP3

The Yōkai Castle appears

That evening, Mana investigates the pillars and hears the cries for help from the kidnapped children. She takes a picture and sends it to Neko-Musume when suddenly her legs are wrapped with snakes. Futakuchi-Onna and Kamaitachi reveal themselves, the former wanting to eat Mana, but the latter reminds her that they need one last kid for the pillar. Tantanbō appears and makes her sink to the ground, forming the last pillar. With this, the Yōkai Castle appears from the ground. Medama-Oyaji explains that the stone used to seal them was mixed in with the other mountain rocks to make concrete, resulting in the fragments being used in various construction sites. This also allows the three to travel anywhere that contains these shards and control them. The track stadium was the place that had the most concrete used. Neko-Musume shows Kitarō Mana's message and the others arrive to help.

As the Kitarō Family arrives, Kamaitachi attacks the one in the air while Futakuchi-Onna battles the enemies from the ground. Kitarō breaks into the castle and battles against Tantanbō. While at first the others seemed to have been defeated, they regenerated quickly. Tantanbō boasts that so long as the Yōkai Castle exists, they are invincible, knocking the Yōkai boy out the window. The two groups convene, where Kitarō asks what they are doing by resurrecting the Yōkai Castle. Tantanbō tells him that when they woke up from their slumber, they saw what the humans had done to the world. This made him realize that the world does not need humans and plans to use the castle to create a world of only Yōkai.

Tantanbo18 EP3 26

Tantanbō defeated

Hearing this, while also annoyed by the humans' arrogance, Kitarō states that by acting like them and trying to exterminate them, then they become worse than them. To assume that only one exists is never right and Kitarō declares that he hates those who cannot accept others that are different from them. The Yōkai boy proceeds to attack them, but Tantanbō says that this is futile as the castle still stands. Kitarō gets an idea and asks Neko-Musume to call Mana's phone. He hears the ringing coming from below, smashing the ground, and shattering the pillar containing Mana. With this, the other pillars start cracking and the three lose their connection, allowing the Kitarō Family to defeat them.

The Yōkai Castle disappears and the children are safe. Mana apologizes to Kitarō, but Neko-Musume notes that without her they would not have been able to beat them. Kitarō airs his worries, saying that while he protected her this time, what will happen the next time. He explains that this is why he did not want her to get involved with their world. Neko-Musume and Sunakake-Babaa point out that this means he cares for her and already sees her as a friend. Medama-Oyaji asks his son what he thinks is the most important thing for humans and Yokai to live together. He tells his son that it is to respect and to try and understand each other. Mana says that she wants to learn more about Yokai, and about Kitarō as well, asking him to be her friend. Kitarō accepts, saying that if he does not keep an eye on her then she will likely get into more trouble, and shakes her hand.

While walking, Medama-Oyaji is confused, they have no idea who was behind the arrow that shot him or the sorcery used to resurrect the Yōkai Castle, or what they are doing this for. He hopes that things do not get worse, unaware of the mysterious figure watching them.
