Being decastated by his wife's death, Shōkichi almost committed a suicide along with his new born daughter Akane. However, Hakusanbō suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and told Shōkichi that if his daughter will be served to Hakusanbō as a bride in the future, he will save Shōkichi's life and make it successful.
