Shingo Umoregi (埋れ木 真吾 Umoregi Shingo), the current Akuma-kun, is the protagonist of Saishinban Akuma-kun and the subsequent Akuma-kun anime adaptation.
Appearance[]
Shingo is a young boy with short, brown hair. His hair curls straight up at the top, as well as down towards his bangs. He wears a red shirt, brown shorts, striped socks, and white sneakers. He can sometimes be seen wearing a cloak (known as a Furoshiki) and a necklace with an ocarina attached. One side of the cloak is green with a swirling pattern, and the other side is purple. There is a golden button holding the cloak together, with the Star of David as the insignia. The necklace holding the ocarina is blue, and the ocarina itself is white.
Personality[]
Shingo had an affinity for the dark arts, even before meeting Doctor Faust and The Twelve Apostles. He would read books about black magic and witchcraft, much to the dismay of his mother. Because of this, his friends would often refer to him as "Akuma-kun".[1]
History[]

Powers and Abilities[]
Summoning: Shingo can summon The Twelve Apostles by drawing a summoning circle and chanting the phrase "エロイムエッサイム、我は求め訴えたり..." This phrase roughly translates to "Elohim Essaim, I seek and I plead..." The summoning circle can be drawn anywhere, as long as it's on solid ground.[2]
Equipment[]
Solomon's Flute (ソロモンの笛 Soromon no Fue): Though often referred to as a flute, the ocarina around Shingo's neck can be used to draw out the power of both himself and the 12 Apostles. Shingo can also produce a melody from the flute that sounds painful to any Akuma that he targets.[3]
Enchanted Cloak (魔除のふろしき Mayoke no Furoshiki): This item was given to Shingo by Mephisto II to protect him from otherworldly attacks. Shingo wears it around his body like a cape, and uses it like armor.[3]
Demon World Tarot Cards (魔界のタロットカード Makai no Tarotto Kādo): They function very similar to normal tarot cards, allowing SHingo to predict the future, but can be used as a weapon when needed by throwing them at his target, much like a shuriken.[3]
