Shiroshōzoku are small, child-sized beings that are entirely black with glowing yellow eyes and mouths filled with sharp teeth. They wear white burial kimonos and conical straw hats tied with white string.
Shiroshōzoku appears in episode 9 of the fifth anime adaptation.
In the broad sense, Shiroshozoku means white clothing. In a limited sense, it is a white garment worn in Shinto and Buddhism for rituals. It is also used in burials, dressing the bodies the deceased.
