Takekiri-Danuki (竹切り狸 Takekiri-Danuki, Bamboo cutting Tanuki) is a tanuki and antagonist of Kitarō, though only in the manga. He is more commonly known as a close friend of Mannen-Dake, and Yamako is his minion.

Takekiri-Danuki hold a grudge against Kitarō as Mannen-Dake was defeated and tried to revenge on him. He lured Kitarō to a bamboo forest by making him to ride on the stilts he controlled, and ordered Yamako to fight him to measure the target's powers. After Yamako's defeat, the tanuki appeared and one-sidedly attacked Kitarō as the latter was attached to the stilts by tanuki's power. He sucked Kitarō into his testicles and was pleased with the outcome, but was defeated when Tsurube-Bi came to aid and burned tanuki's testicles.

Energy Sucking: He can suck target's Yōki from a pipe he can extend from his tail.
Shnzo-Sashi (心臓刺し Shnzo-Sashi, lit. heart stabbing): He stabs target with a bamboo leaf and seals target's powers.
Suitori-Chinpo (吸い取りチンポ Suitori-Chinpo, lit. sucking penis): He can inhale targets from enlarged penis and testicles, and traps the target within the testicles and melts inside.

Takekiri-Danuki resides in bamboo groves in the Kyoto Prefecture. In the middle of the night, the sound of bamboo twigs being trimmed is heard, followed by the bamboo being cut off at the trunk and the sound of bamboo falling onto the ground. By dawn, there was no sign that the bamboo had been cut.
