A few months ago I did a post presenting some stories from the Kitarō manga that I would like to be adapted for the current anime. Taking into account that more than 50 episodes have been confirmed and we are already going to 41st, I believe that at least two or three stories from the past post will be adapted, especially with the large amount of original chapters.
So I dedicate this post to the possibility of Toei making a sequel to this series in the next decade, which I long for, after all this concept of yōkai going through ostracism in the 21st century was sensational and I frankly think they could adapt the chapters of other manga ignored by them instead of repeating the same old stories.
Without further ado ...
Story: "The Birth of Kitarō"(it will be movie)- Reason: As this anime makes direct references to the birth of Kitaro, this story would be appropriate.
- Title: "The Ghost Tribe Epilogue"
- Character that can not miss: Mizuki (who else would it be?)
- Character that can not appear: Kitarō Family (you know, he also needs space to shine alone.)
- Story: "Shinigami" and the series "Salaryman Shinigami" as a whole.
- Reason: Same reason as Nurarihyon: Do not lose the habit.
- Title: "Work Shinigami! To the Orders of Enma-Daiō"
- Character that can not miss: Shina-Yasha (as a Shinigami's sidekick) and Enma-Daiō
- Character that can not appear: No one in particular
- Story: "Yōkai Army"
- Reason: Just one more chance to see the yōkai from South Asia
- Title: "The Yōkai Army of South Asia Appears in Japan."
- Character that can not miss: Neko-Musume (I love the parts where she's boiling with hate from the villain and here would be the right time)
- Character that can not appear: No one in particular
- Story: "A Ticket for Cat Street"
- Reason: Preferably, with anthropomorphic cats.
- Title: "The Feline Fable of Neko-Mata"
- Character that can not miss: Mana Inuyama (to complete with the other bizarrices she faces)
- Character that can not appear: Konaki-Jijii, Sunakake-Babaa, Ittan-Momen and Nurikabe (I really do not think it's necessary that they also turn into cats)
- Story: "Man-Eating Island"
- Reason: Another marvelously macabre story that can be tapped.
- Title: "Sacrifices under the Fear!? The Man-Eating Island"
- Character that can not miss: No one in particular
- Character that can not appear: No one in particular
And to conclude: I would like to say that if Toei is planning to continue the franchise in the next decade, he can at least adapt stories from other GeGeGe no Kitarō series, such as Shinpen GeGeGe no Kitarō, Shin GeGeGe no Kitarō, Saishinban GeGeGe no Kitarō and Ōbora Kitarō.
END...
