Yōken (妖犬 Yōken, Yōkai Dog) is a chinese yōkai who works for Qi.
In the GeGeGe no Kitarō: Kiki Ippatsu! Yōkai Rettō game, he is named Kuro-Kaibutsu (黒怪物), just like another yōkai with this name.
Appearance[]
In the manga, Yōken is an anthropomorphic water buffalo, with dark fur and horns, light-colored lips, and irises. He wears a light-colored tunic with a dark trim.[1]
In the 1971 anime, Yōken is an anthropomorphic water buffalo with dark purple fur, small ears, and a pair of gray horns. He wears a loose, magenta Chinese tunic with a black trim, a matching sash is tied at the waist, brown pants navy blue boots. His true form is that of a white fox.[2]
In the 1985 anime, Yōken is an anthropomorphic water buffalo with dark blue fur, big ears, and a pair of dark gray horns. His lips are pale purple and his eyes have white sclerae, blue irises, and black pupils. He wears a white tunic under a blue tunic with light blue trim and yellow edges, a red sash is tied around his waist, yellow pants, and brown boots.[3]
In the 1996 anime, Yōken is an anthropomorphic water buffalo with black fur, big ears, and a pair of dull brown horns. His lips are pink and his eyes have red sclerae, yellow irises, and tiny black pupils. He wears a magenta tunic under a white tunic with a black trim, a black sash which is tied at the waist, yellow pants, and a pair of black Chinese boots with red sides.[4]

Powers and Abilities[]
Fire Manipulation: In the 1996 anime, Yōken is capable of releasing powerful streams of fire from his mouth.[4]

Guandao: Yōken carries around a guandao, a type of Chinese spear. It has a gray pole with a tuft of red tassel tied by the spearhead, which is shaped with a curved small protrusion on one side and flat on the other. On the opposite end is a small gray hook-shaped piece.
