Yajū (家獣 Yajū, lit. House Beast) is a house yōkai.[1]
Appearance[]
Yajū takes the form of a small wooden house, with a worn triangle roof, a smokestack, and roots sticking from the bottom. It has two windows on its right side, a door that takes the place of its mouth and a single window above it that acts as its eye.[1]
Personality[]
Yajū communicates via its chimney smoke, appearing to be either unwilling or unable to speak.[1]
History[]
Shinpen GeGeGe no Kitarō[]
He fled from the western world to Japan due to a witch-hunt. Kitarō lured it to GeGeGe Forest and trapped it in Yōkai Ivy for the plant to feed on it.[1]
Powers and Abilities[]
House Physiology: Yajū can pull humans into itself by inhaling them through its door. It can control the furniture and walls inside of itself to attack its targets and dissolve them. It can emit smoke in the shape of English letters, from its chimney as a means of communication.[1]
