Yōkai Monsters: Spook Warfare (
About[]
Along with Yokai Monsters: 100 Monsters and Yōkai Monsters: Along with Ghosts, the three films were called Yōkai Monsters Series.
Various yōkai designs were based on Shigeru Mizuki's illustrations, and this film and Mizuki's The Great Yōkai War and the 1986 film GeGeGe no Kitarō: Yōkai Dai-Sensō share the basic concept.[1]
Daimon made its debut in this film.
This series was closely tied up with other Daiei Tokusatsu films, and were often theatrically released with Gamera and Dai-Majin movies where the success of the Gamera franchise contributed in the launchings of Dai-Majin and Yōkai Monsters Series.
The Great Yōkai War and The Great Yōkai War: Guardians were loosely based on this film.
