Yumuchaac (ユムチャック Yumuchakku) is a Maya rain god from Mexico.

Appearance[]

Yumuchaac resembles most traditional statues of him. He is a giant man a slightly portly body, with rocky skin, sleepy, pupilless eyes, a long, hooked nose, and a mouth with fangs. He wears ornate armor, with an apron-like cloth, beaded bracelets on his arms, and a bird-shaped headdress and shoulder pads. He is often seen kneeling.

Yumuchaac appears in episode #44 of the second anime adaptation, Amagami Yumuchaac.

Yumuchaac appears in episode #83 of the third anime adaptation, The Legend of the Rain God Yumuchaac.

Chaac is a Maya rain God who uses his lightning axe to strike the clouds to produce rain and thunder. Like other Maya gods, Chaac is both an individual and manifold, there being Four Chaacs that are based on the cardinal directions and wear the directional colors. The Yucatec's Chʼa Cháak ceremony is for asking rain centers on a ceremonial banquet for the rain deities. Young men and women were lowered into these wells, so as to make them enter the realm of the rain deities. Alternatively, they were thrown into the wells later to be drawn up again, and give oracles.
